How to turn an old pair of jeans into a bag
Repairing, upcycling, thrifting, charity shop shopping, it's all about old things and what you can do with them to make them 'new' or a give them a new lease of life. If you remember the blog post about charity shop shopping, and the one about making up new fabric from scraps, then you're going to love this one which is all about making a bag from a pair of jeans.
I've made 4 of these bags so far for my sisters and my Mum and they love them. My Mum told me how soft they were, and they love the lining is made up of scraps - this is a real scrap buster upcycling project.
All you need is an old pair of jeans, either your own or from a charity shop (these ones I bought and ahem, they didn't really fit, given the extra Covid pounds.....), and it doesn't matter too much if they're worn at the knees or at the gusset, as you can sew around this and cut those bits out.
I've taken the liberty of writing it all up in a handy PDF just like my other patterns, and you can access it via my new FREE DOWNLOAD page on the website. I've made it a page because there will be more free patterns to come. I love sharing projects that I've enjoyed and want you to be able to try them too.
If you try it out, I'd love you to share with me, and equally if you have any questions about making it up, please ask!
As always, have a fab day! Ruth xx
